Nach langen Jahren der Vorbereitung ist die Skulptur „Zukunft bleibt!“ endlich Realität geworden.
Die Skulptur greift ein Thema auf, das die Bürger:innen des Osdorfer Borns lange bewegt: der Wunsch nach einer Schienenanbindung. Der offene Säulengang steht für den Eingang einer zukünftigen Bahnstation.
Die begehbare Skulptur ermöglicht es, sich den öffentlichen Raum in der Quartiersmitte auf eine neue Art anzueignen und zu nutzen. Sie lädt zum Verweilen, Pausieren und Luftholen ein. Das „Mahnmal an die Zukunft“ spornt durch Fragen – eingefräst in die Sitzelemente – zu einer persönlichen Bilanz und einem Perspektivenwechsel an. Es wird zu einem aktiven Ort zu einem Denk-und Reflexionsraum.
Der minimal-kompakte und gleichzeitig offene Bau erzeugt ein dynamisches Lichtspiel aus Sonne und künstlichem Licht und Schattenwurf, infolgedessen die Umgebung selbst in Bewegung gerät.
„Zukunft bleibt!“ ist Teil des „Bildungsbandes Osdorfer Born“, das Orte des Lernens und Wissens mit interessanten Wegen verbindet.

After many years of preparation, the sculpture „Future remains!“ has finally become reality.
The sculpture takes up a topic that has long moved the citizens of the neighborhood (12,000 people) of Osdorfer Born: the desire for a rail connection. The open colonnade stands for the entrance of a future railroad station.
The walk-in sculpture makes it possible to occupy and use the public space in the center of the district in a new way. It invites people to linger, for a short break. Through questions – milled into the seating elements – the „Memorial to the Future“ encourages a personal balance and a change of perspective. It becomes an active place for recreate and reflection.
The minimal-compact and at the same time open building creates a dynamic play of sunlight and artificial light and shadows, as a result of which the environment itself is set in motion.
„Zukunft bleibt!“ is part of the „Bildungsband Osdorfer Born“, which connects places of learning and knowledge with interesting paths.
